Fraud Alert: Protect Yourself Against Door-to-Door Scams


Your safety is our priority, and we want to make you aware of recent door-to-door activity reported by several residents. 

We have been informed that individuals are visiting buildings and offering enrolment in electricity-offset, carbon-credit, or environmental incentive programs. These individuals are not affiliated with Metergy. 

Please note that Metergy never collects personal or financial information at your door and we only visit your unit if a scheduled appointment has been communicated in advance. 

How to Protect Yourself? 

  1. Be cautious of unexpected visitors 
    If someone shows up claiming to be from Metergy without prior notice, you should decline the interaction as the visit is not legitimate. 
  2. Do not share personal or financial details 
    Metergy will never ask for banking or account information at your door. 
  3. Avoid signing anything on the spot 
    Legitimate service providers will always allow time to review and verify information. 
  4. Report suspicious activity 
    Notify your property management team if you experience a concerning visit.
