Attention: Important Ontario Electricity Support and Low-Income Support Assistance Programs Update

There have been some important updates regarding energy assistance programs in Ontario.
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has introduced changes to the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) and the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), both aimed at providing financial assistance to those in need.
The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) provides monthly bill credits for eligible low-income customers. If your income meets certain criteria, you may qualify for this ongoing reduction. Additionally, the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) offers emergency financial aid for customers at risk of disconnection due to overdue energy bills, with special rules for low-income households. These changes will come into effect on March 1st, 2024.
